Many thanks to those that came along to participate and of course thanks to those that helped out – especially Dil who manned the finish throughout.  My apologies to those on the Orange and the “All Controls” course for the error with number 123 which I positioned wrongly by around 60 metres.  Whilst this did not cause a significant problem on the Orange course because of the approach – it certainly did for around half those on the “All Controls” who used a different attack point.  The error was all mine as I positioned the control from the wrong path “T Junction”.  I have ensured that no one was disqualified for failing to punch this control but I can do nothing to attempt to estimate how many minutes were wasted by some vainly searching for the control.

It is sad to say that the error could have been corrected quite early in the day as I was told that it was missing and went straight out to replace it.  Sadly though, I went out without a map and so went straight to were I had wrongly positioned the control in the first place.  Because it was still there I returned to the Start / Finish area believing that there was no problem and it was only much later in the day that I realised my error.  Sorry chaps – I have fallen on my sword.
