Planner's Comments

I hope everyone enjoyed the courses and apologies for being a little lacking in imagination on the white/yellow courses.

The green course should have provided enough route choice for the experienced ones and I make no apology for the pond control! It WAS in the right place albeit concealed from the path, but hey! you're supposed to be orienteers!

The cows/bullocks only put off one person from reaching a control so feel vindicated in allowing the event to continue knowing that they were going to be scattered around the courses.

Organiser's Comments

A lovely day, not spoilt by anything really.  We had a very good turn-out, more than we had really planned for, but our back-up system of extra blank maps worked very well.   We had some 5 or 6 groups of rank novices, some of whom had come across from the County Show across the road.   The Show was the reason a few of you arrived later than you would have wished.

However, our extended start times to 1300 hrs allowed all who wished to do so to compete.   We do have to apologise to those late starters who faced removal of controls before they got to them.  We had judged they would have got through these, but this was not so.

Everyone seems to have enjoyed Lindsey's courses which made the most of the limited capabilities of this parkland area. We felt justified in putting on a Green course rather than the more common Score at a SMILE as we feel more people prefer this.

No-one asked for hardcopy Results, so if you who are reading this know of anyone wishing such would you be able to satisfy them, or let me know?  Hally40@btinternet.com
