Report
We had a great turnout today at our first Park-O of the new season. The weather was better than expected/feared and we hope you all had a great time without being too bothered by the cows (or their plentiful dung piles).
We have two urban events and a forest event before Christmas, followed by a Park-O at Wandlebury early in the New Year.

Directions / Parking
Registration will be in the southern corner of Lammas Land (just west of the paddling pool).
There is a small car park at Lammas Land. Please note that this car park is no longer free, so if you park there, don't forget to pay. There is metered parking on Newnham Road, adjacent to Lammas Land. There is some free parking available on Barton Road, a short walk from Lammas Land.
Course Information
We typically offer the following courses at a Park-O event:
- Short ~ 2km Easy (Comparable to a "Yellow" course at a regular Orienteering event)
- Long ~ 3km Medium difficulty (Comparable to an "Orange" course at a regular O event)
- Odds/Evens score course - intended for more experienced orienteers: visit as many controls as you can within a fixed time limit of 30 minutes. You can get odds and then evens or evens then odds, but once you switch you cannot go back.
If you want to know more about how we grade courses as "Easy", "Medium" etc., look for the "Colour Coded Course Standards" section in our beginners' guide.
Entry Details
Each course costs £3 for juniors/students and £5 for adults (21yrs+) or family groups. Entry for a second course on the same day is just £1 subject to map availability.
In order to ensure you get to run the course of your choice, we recommend that you pre-register to take part in this event, which you can do at WAOC entries at oentry.uk (Entries will open one month in advance of the event).
You will be allocated a hire dibber, if you do not have one. No payment is required until you turn up for the event. Please bring a credit or debit card for payment.
You can also just turn up and enter on the day, but bear in mind it will take longer to process your entry. Please bring a credit or debit card for payment.
If you haven't been before, please read the information on our Park-O page so that you know what to do - we will have officials around to help if needed.
Registration and Start Times
Starts will operate between 1pm and 3pm.
Please note that courses close at 3:30pm. If you wish to do the long course, you need to start by 2:30pm, unless you have sufficient experience that you will be able to finish before 3:30pm.
Terrain and map details
Course maps will be A4 sized, printed on waterproof paper.
Facilities
There are public toilets situated near the paddling pool at the southern end of Lammas Land.
