Report
Turnout today was somewhat lower than usual which was a shame because Caroline's courses were excellent finding yet a few more new locations not previously visited. Perhaps turnout was lower because it was further from Cambridge, but more likely, it was because of the persistent rain. Thanks therefore go to our valiant volunteers who braved the weather to put out and collect controls, run the start and provide help.
David's introduction to Trail-O was well received by those who tried it (you didn't have to do any more running!) and the harder controls caught out most people, even experienced orienteers.

Summary
This Park-O will offer the usual choice of three courses: Short, Medium and Long.
In addition we will be offering the chance to try TrailO. The TrailO course will take about 10 minutes and is free to enter. We will have helpers on hand to explain what's involved. We hope you will give it a try, before or after your Park-O course!
Park-O Series Info
Our Park-O events are an easy way for juniors and adults to try orienteering. Based in parks around Cambridge, Park-O takes place on a Saturday afternoon 1pm-3pm. We schedule our Park-Os in the gaps between our full scale Sunday orienteering events and we hope that once you have tried Park-O you will come along to all our events.

TrailO
The TrailO course involves a series of viewpoints with a multiple choice problem to solve at each one, and is a good test of map-reading skills. No running is involved - TrailO was developed to be suitable for physically disabled participants as well as able-bodied orienteers.
Entry Details
For entry fees, See Park-O page.
Entry on the day will be available, but it helps us if you pre-register (no payment is taken until you turn up on the day). To register, go on-line to WAOC entries at oentry.uk. Entries open 1 month before the event date.
If you haven't been to a Park-O before, please read the information on our Park-O page so that you know what to do - we will have officials around to help if needed.
Registration and Start Times
In order to ensure a run, we recommend that you pre-register on-line to book a start slot between 1pm and 3pm. Entry on the day will be available, subject to start slots being free.
If you have pre-entered, remember to allow enough time before your start time to collect your dibber and pay, and get ready- probably about 20 minutes before you start.
Starts will operate between 1pm and 3pm.
If you are entering on the day, come to registration when you arrive.
Please note that courses close at 3:30pm. If you wish to do the long (or extra-long) course, you need to start by 2:30pm, unless you have sufficient experience that you will be able to finish before 3:30pm. This applies to entry-on-the-day as well as for pre-registered runners.
There is a café that serves home-made hot and cold foods, and there are toilets located at the back of the Visitors' Centre.
