Report
We had good weather today and a great turnout. The courses avoided the worst of the cow dung! We had a couple of lost dibbers today - please remember to tighten the strap onto your (or your children's) finger. Luckily, one of the missing dibbers was later found.
We hope to see you again at our next Park-O, which will be on Trumpington Meadows on 13th November. Pre-entry now open on oentry.uk.
In the meantime check out the Cambridge City Race. which is a larger scale orienteering event with a range of courses including ones for juniors aged 12 and under, and older juniors, as well as longer and more technical courses than you will find at Park-O, intended for adults.
There was some lost property left in the download tent by one family:
- Age 2-3 purple padded waistcoat
- North Ridge purple coat
- Blue padded coat
These items are currently with the organiser in Sawston (please email deputy@waoc.org.uk to arrange collection). We will bring the items to the Trumpington Park-O if they are not collected before.

A fun orienteering event aimed at juniors and inexperienced adults On Coe Fen and Lammas Land. Starts will run between 1pm and 3pm.
Pre-entries are now closed, but we will accept entries on the day.
IMPORTANT NOTE
We only have a limited number of hire dibbers available for this event, and so if you enter on the day you may have to use a dibber that someone else has already used earlier in the day. We realise this is not ideal in terms of preventing possible transmission paths for the coronavirus. Hand sanitiser will be available. All those pre-entered will be given a hire dibber that has already been reserved and will not have been used by anyone else that day.
(Re-use of hire dibbers was normal practice before COVID19 came on the scene. Since then we have usually been able to make use of an additional stock of hire dibbers so that none were ever used by more than one person at an event. Unfortunately, these are in use elsewhere this time).
There will be training for junior club members at this event. For more details, or to confirm you want to take part in the training, email chair@waoc.org.uk.
