Park-O Series Info
Our Park-O events are an easy way for juniors and adults to try orienteering. Based in parks around Cambridge, Park-O takes place on a Saturday afternoon 1pm-3pm. We schedule our Park-Os in the gaps between our full scale Sunday orienteering events and we hope that once you have tried Park-O you will come along to all our events.

Directions / Parking
Registration / Start and Finish will all be a short walk from the paddling pool.
There is a small car park at Lammas Land. Please note that this is no longer free, so if you park there, don't forget to pay. There is metered parking on Newnham Road, adjacent to Lammas Land. There is some free parking available on Barton Road, a short walk from Lammas Land.
Course Information
We typically offer the following courses at a Park-O event:
- Short ~ 2km Easy (Comparable to a "Yellow" course at a regular Orienteering event)
- Long ~ 3km Medium difficulty (Comparable to an "Orange" course at a regular O event)
- Odds/Evens score course, intended for more experienced orienteers: visit as many controls as you can within a fixed time limit.
If you want to know more about how we grade courses as "Easy", "Medium" etc., look for the "Colour Coded Course Standards" section in our beginners' guide.
Entry Details
In order to ensure you get to run the course of your choice, we recommend that you pre-register to take part in this event, which you can do at WAOC entries at oentry.uk (Entries now open - advance entry closes on 24th October).
You will be allocated a hire dibber, if you do not have one. No payment is required until you turn up for the event. Please bring a credit or debit card for payment. You can use the "Fast track" lane at registration if you have pre-registered and it makes life easier for us too.
You can also just turn up and enter on the day, but bear in mind it will take longer to process your entry. Please bring a credit or debit card for payment.
If you haven't been before, please read the information on our Park-O page so that you know what to do - we will have officials around to help if needed.
Registration and Start Times
Starts will operate between 1pm and 3pm.
Please note that courses close at 3:30pm. If you wish to do the long course, you need to start by 2:30pm, unless you have sufficient experience that you will be able to finish before 3:30pm.
