MapRun 2024-25 league
2024 - 2025 MapRun League
A long and short course option are available at each event with either 4-5km or 8-10km of running. There are linear courses at some events (find the checkpoints in order as quickly as you can) and score courses at others (find as many as you can within either 30 or 45 minutes).
Run the course either at the social Wednesday evening event or on your own at any time in the fortnight afterwards (up to midnight on the second Tuesday after the event) for your run to count in the league.
Please note that controls will not be physically placed. You can run the course traditionally without a smartphone but you will not be eligible for the league. Paper maps will be available for all entering on the Wednesday evening.
See the MapRunners website on how to use MapRun. The MapRun app is available in the Android Play Store and Apple App Store. For Garmin watches, MapRunG is available in Garmin Connect IQ.
There will be prizes for the highest-scoring man and women on the long courses. Depending on the number of events, your best 3 (of 5), 4 (of 6) or 5 (of 7) runs count.
New? We'd love you to join in! All running abilities are welcome and no orienteering experience is needed. You can just turn up on the Wednesday evening.
Not sure what to bring? You can wear your usual trainers and running kit. On the social Wednesday night, we'll have somewhere you can leave a bag while you run. Finally, bring a smartphone - if you can, download the free app 'MapRun' in advance, but if you arrive a bit early we can help with that.
These events are not intended for juniors, but if they do run, U16's must be at least Orange standard and shadowed.
