League Event - Trumpington Meadows

MapRun League Series Info

2021 - 2022 MapRun League

The League returns with a new format of linear courses.

Choose between either a 6km or a 3km linear course (note the distances are measured on a direct line between controls and so you can expect to run a third more than advertised).

Run the course either at the social Wednesday evening event or on your own at any time in the fortnight afterwards (up to midnight on the second Tuesday after the event) for your run to count in the league.

Please note that controls will not be physically placed. You can run the course traditionally without a smartphone but you will not be eligible for the league. Paper maps will be available for all entering on the Wednesday evening.

See the MapRunners website on how to use MapRun. The MapRun apps, MapRun6 or MapRunG for Garmin watches, are available in the Play Store and App Store.

There will be prizes for the fastest man and women on each of the 6k and 3k courses. Your best 4 runs count.

New? We'd love you to join in! All running abilities are welcome and no orienteering experience is needed. You can just turn up on the Wednesday evening.

Not sure what to bring? You can wear your usual trainers and running kit. We'll have somewhere you can leave a bag while you run. Finally, bring a well-charged smartphone - if you can, download the free app 'MapRun6' in advance, but if you arrive a bit early we can help with that.

These events are not intended for juniors, but if they do run, U16's must be at least Orange standard and shadowed.

Privacy:

WAOC process entrant information on the basis of legitimate interest to produce competition results, to provide participation and results information to British Orienteering, and we retain details for a period to meet our insurance requirements.  Published results may include (but not limited to) name, any club affiliation, race times and age group. Taking Photographs:

In line with the policies of British Orienteering, the organisers of this event request that any person wishing to take photos or videos showing children should register their details with event volunteers before taking any such photos or videos. The event organisers reserve the right to ask people to refrain from taking photos or videos and may, if such warnings are ignored, refer the matter to the police.

Club's use of Images:

We may sometimes publish photographs of event participants in news items or publicity.  At events where we have arranged for photography we will advertise this at the event and in advance in the event details.

We aim always to obtain the permissions of parent or responsible adult before we publish any picture showing a junior participant as the main focus. Although we cannot guarantee that an event photographer will not take photographs of any given individual, we will do our best to avoid publishing images of individuals who have told us they do not wish to be photographed.

Read our data protection page for further information about our policy on photography and use of images.
