Junior European Cup 2022From our International Correspondent

Congratulations to Alex Wetherill who represented Great Britain in the 2022 Junior European Cup, which was held in Blankenburg, Germany, 1st – 3rd October, 2022. For full details, click here.
EA Schools Champs 2022

The first regional school champs since 2019 was held in Haughley Park on 2nd October. There were some good results from WAOC juniors representing their schools, including two category winners: Elysia in the Girls Primary class, and Alistair in the Boys Year 9-10 category.
Welsh Championships 2022

Congratulation to the Welsh members of the Powell family who took part in the Welsh Championships held in North West Wales, at Gwanas (near Dolgellau) on 1 October 2022. They achieved medal places as follows:
Alys Powell - W10 Welsh Champion
Hana Powell - W10 Bronze
Johanna Powell - W45 Bronze
WAOC's Winners in the 2021-2022 ESSOL School League

Three of our club juniors were winners in their categories in the league for 2021-22, and receive a trophy: Elysia (G Y3-4), Kate (G Y7-8), and Alistair (B Y9-10).

Congratulation to our WAOC Junior Relay Team who took part in the Peter Palmer Daybreak Trophy at Sutton Coalfield in the early hours of 11 September 2022.
WAOC Juniors at the Yvette Baker Trophy Final

This year's YB Final was held at Irchester Country Park on Sunday 3rd July. The WAOC Junior team were 4th in the Trophy competition (for large clubs). This the best result that WAOC Juniors have achieved in this competition in recent times, and possibly ever. Well done to everyone who took part!

WAOC at the British Sprints WeekendPodium Place for WAOC Juniors at the British Sprint Relays

Congratulations to our M/W 12- relay team who won a Bronze Medal at the British Orienteering Mixed Sprint Relay Championships for 2022, held on Saturday 11 June at Leeds Beckett University.
The British Sprints Championships followed on the Sunday, with some notable WAOC performances here as well...
JK 2022 in South WalesCongratulations to WAOC's medal winning runners

At the Sprints, congratulations to Alys on 1st and Elysia on 3rd in W10, and Ursula Oxburgh on 3rd on W85.
In the overall competition (days 2 & 3), congratulations to Elysia on 3rd in W10A, Oliver Hague on 1st in M21V, Dil Wetherill on 1st in M55S, and Noreen Ives in W65S.
